ALERT Life Sciences Computing, Inc. provides a complete suite of ALERT® healthcare applications for hospitals, primary care centers, and private practices, with the ability to produce 100% paper free environments. ALERT® was designed for real time entry of clinical data using touch-screen monitors in any clinical environment. Using web-based technology, hospitals and physician offices can access patient records and exchange information at the point of care. ALERT® can be installed throughout a healthcare facility or in individual departments. ALERT® has the ability to integrate with legacy software regardless of its origin. ALERT® integrates the clinical history of a patient, as well as the workflow of all patient interactions within healthcare organizations. ALERT® uses international standards for interoperability; ALERT® uses IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) initiatives and has been an active member of the HL7 organization since 2004. ALERT® is able to integrate with a wide variety of healthcare systems using standards such as LOINC, SNOMED-CT, ICD-9, ICPC-2, ICNP and CDA ensuring data conversion and dynamic analysis and at multiple locations ALERT® is available in several languages (English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese and Italian). Products from the ALERT® suite have been adopted by 133 hospitals and 436 primary care centers. To date, ALERT® software has never been de-installed. ALERT® develops all ALERT® products in web-based technology using a 3-tier approach: Flash for the user interface, Java for the middle layer, and Oracle for its database. ALERT® has templates to document any type of clinical episode. Users can direct their patient history questions as a function of the chief complaint, suggesting differential diagnoses, guidelines, and care plans. ALERT® also provides standard texts for data entry in almost all aspects of documentation. Each user can use ALERT®´s back office to enter their own “frequently used texts." ALERT® includes guidelines and protocols which can be used to create tasks that will be automatically activated in specific circumstances. In addition to ALERT®’s clinical software operational tool, the ALERT® suite of products includes a Data Warehouse tool - ALERT® DATA WAREHOUSE (ADW) - for analysis of clinical and financial data, giving both clinical staff and management teams access to information pertaining to all clinical operations. ALERT® also has a unique implementation methodology, which includes on-site facilitator services, provided by teams specialized in the transformation process required for the transition from a paper-based to a paper-free clinical environment. There are now over 35,000 healthcare professionals who are ALERT® trained and certified users, half of which are physicians. Every day, approximately 100 new healthcare workers are trained to use ALERT®. ALERT® has unique features which differentiate our clinical software products from other competitors. ALERT®’s key competitive advantages are: designed by clinicians and built from the ground up; extendible from hospitals to private physician offices; icon oriented; web technology; ASP mode available; interoperable; includes all healthcare professionals; Interfaces (laboratory software, imaging software, administrative/ADT software); thematic workflows; customizable templates and workflows; and produces real paper-free environments.
