At the present time we have windows based EMR and have all the options on this software.
We have been very unhappy with the software upgrades and VERY UNHAPPY with the support from our EMR vendor. We are seriously looking to switch to a Apple (Mac) OS X based operating system for easy of use and save on IT expenses!!! We have looked at the "An EHR User-Satisfaction Survey" and plan to follow up on some of these software but they are Windows based operating systems so we will look at them very careful. Yet one of the software we use is rated in the top 5 - so I wonder how reliable this Satisfaction Survey is. My question: Anyone know about a Apple (Mac) OS X operating system based EMR that has all the options from billing, charting, etc...????? What about outsourcing billing - anyone know of anyone and would you recommend we look into this??? Any recommendation about EMR software to look at? Thank you very much. Sincerely, ffmskhi P.S. Don't forget, you can always go WEB BASED. This means you are accessing an internet based application, and you pay a set monthly fee to use it. No need to buy software, servers or new computers, the apps will work as long as you have a web browser.
Basically, you don't have to worry about your Operating System if you go web based. Hope that helps. |

As EMR development seems to be stunted, I suspect primarily because the full complement of "certification" criteria is yet to be finalized, what experiences do you have with ASP EMR? |

Concur completely. As EMR development seems to be stunted, I suspect primarily because the full complement of "certification" criteria is yet to be finalized, what experiences do you have with ASP EMR? Acually, I have quite a bit of experience with ASP EMR's. Our EMR is completely web based and our clients pay a predictable monthly fee to use it. We upgrade the system every 5 weeks, with suggestions from our clients. Actually, all of our upgrades include ONLY client feedback. We've figured this is the best way to build out the best system possible. Web based is great because you can access your system from any computer with internet. It really does redefine the meaning of software, and honestly, our clients will never purchase traditional software again. The original post stated that someone was looking for a good EMR for Mac, but what if that question never came up again because it didn't matter what OS you are using? Hope that answers you question. Let me know if it didn't. |

...but what if that question never came up again because it didn't matter what OS you are using? That would be fantastic. I will admit that a great deal of "ASP's", or whatever the current moniker is, that publicize themselves as web-based are not truly web-based as far as cross-platform technology is concerned. Would be nice if this weren't the case. |
