No doubt many of you find the 150,000 word default general large vocabulary to be a bit bloated. Unfortunately the manufacturer doesn't include any viable options. The empty vocabulary option will allow you to create your own vocabulary but doesn't include any “no pause dictation” commands such as new paragraph, Cap and numerous other necessary commands. The Commands Only vocabulary includes these necessary commands but you can't add any vocabulary because the vocabulary is Commands Only. It's a Catch-22. Ouch!

With this in mind we created a 25 step pictorial PDF guide and a 50,000 word vocabulary which is 1 third of the size of the default general large vocabulary. We've been using this medium-sized vocabulary for the past 2 months and both NaturallySpeaking's accuracy and speed have significantly improved for us. The 50,000 word vocabulary is now available to existing KB2006 customers. This 50,000 word vocabulary will work with NaturallySpeaking Pro9.5 customers using the KnowBrainer Medical vocabulary but not with the Nuance medical and legal vocabularies because those vocabularies are locked.

We have prepared a Medium Size Vocab download which includes a 50,000 word vocab and a very small 2000 vocab that will be included in our next KnowBrainer revision. All KnowBrainer 2006 customers are invited to try out the new vocabulary. Just click request and be sure to include your KnowBrainer serial number. We will send you download instructions and a vocabulary password.
Note: The very small 2000 Word vocab is designed for highly specialized use and will not work well for standard dictation practices. Most end users will be better off with the 50,000 word vocabulary. thumbsup.gif
