EHRConsultant.com Name Change
We are frequently asked ‘Why did you change the name of the company from EMRConsutant.com to EHRConsultant.com?
When EMRConsultant.com was started in 2004, the phrase “Electronic Medical Records” was the most common phrase utilized to address this industry. In 2005 I wrote a paper indicating that it was my opinion that this would change over the next couple of years to “Electronic Health Records.” Please see: http://www.emrconsultant.com/emr_terminology.php for this article.
In the April 2007 edition of EHR Scope, the last article updated the data from the original 2005 article, and effective May 1st, 2007, we changed the company name. Please see: http://www.ehrscope.com/downloads/ehrscope_april07-1w.pdf page 83.
The names seem very similar, and you may find vestiges of the older name EMRConsultant.com throughout our site while we systematically edit tens of thousands of lines of code to change all prior references to Electronic Medical Records to Electronic Health Records.
Yours,
Eric Fishman, MD
Pres., EHRConsultant.com
